Loki let out all of the air that he had been holding in when she said that she would help him. His concern for his father outweighed any other thought in his mind. But then another thought creeped in, threatening to unhinge Loki once more…
Odin isn’t your father… you know that.
Loki did know though. Loki knew that Odin was his father and Frigga was his mother and Thor was his brother. Laufey had tricked him, that was the only rational explanation. He shoved these unwelcome thoughts out of his mind as he lead Bri through the castle toward his father. It was fortunate that he cleared his mind, because Bri had so many things to tell him about what she experienced in her meditation. He couldn’t believe what she was telling him. Had Odin lied to everyone?! No… No. Odin never lied to Loki… did he? Loki had to physically shake his head to clear his mind of the corrupt thoughts. He had too much to think about. He would talk to his father and to Bri, but they had a goal right now.
Loki opened the door to Odin’s chambers where Sigyn, Frigga and Thor. They all looked up in surprise when Loki and Bri entered, Thor went so far as to stand but Bri went straight to work. She was determined to help and Loki couldn’t help the proud smile on his face. But when he saw everyone else’s faces, he became concerned. Frigga had her hand on her mouth at the sight of the foreign blue glow that was consuming Bri. Thor stepped forward to stop her when Bri went to touch Odin’s forehead but Loki touched his arm.
“Don’t… she knows what she’s doing.” Loki said quietly. Only seconds later did Bri fall to the floor when Odin’s eyes opened. Thor rushed to his side as did Frigga and Sigyn but Loki went to Bri and helped her up off the floor and he stayed away from his family along with her. He felt distant from them now. But he couldn’t help the overwhelming relief that flooded through him when he saw Odin’s eyes open. He hugged Bri to him,
“Thank you my dear…” He kissed her hair.
Thor talked to his father in anxious tones until he was sure that his father was alright then he said, “Father, Loki has returned… with Bri.” Silence followed and Loki’s heart fell, “Father? Did you hear me?”
“I heard you.” Odin responded.
“Well why aren’t you-“
“I do not want to discuss it right now.” Odin said flatly, “Leave me if you are going to barrage me with such matters.” Loki scoffed and walked out of the room. Thor quickly followed.
“I shouldn’t have returned.” Loki said when the door shut, “He doesn’t want me here anymore.”
“He’s just angry.” Thor responded, “He’ll come around. Bri saved his life! He can’t ignore that.”
“But he will. He’s Odin the all powerful AllFather and if there is something he doesn’t like, cut it loose. Like an infected weed…” He looked at his boots but Thor would not relent.
“No. He just doesn’t understand. He’ll come around. And if he doesn’t I’ll make him understand. You’re my brother,” Thor stepped in front of him and shook his shoulders, forcing Loki to look up, “And you are not leaving me again.”
The…. Avengers? Hmmm…. it rings a ridiculous little bell….
Haha perhaps some singing my happen in the future… No one has ever asked me except for my mother. It has been years, Thor often made fun of me.
